Isle of Palms Polar Plunge

Location: The Windjammer | 1008 Ocean Boulevard, Isle of Palms, SC
The Experience: The Isle of Palms Polar Plunge will be held by Law Enforcement Torch Run officers benefitting Special Olympics South Carolina. Proceeds raised will go towards providing year-round training and competition for Special Olympics athletes. Contributions help athletes achieve their athletic goals while allowing them to feel a sense of inclusion in the community. Go freezing for a reason!

Completion of Public Dock
Date: Friday, February 7th, 2025
Time: 10:30 am – 11 am
Location: Isle of Palms Marina | 50 41st Avenue
The Event: In September of 2020, Isle of Palms’ City Council voted to create a public dock and greenspace. The contract includes a 16-foot-wide pier with a covered area, along with benches, swings, and a new floating dock. The updated dock will also include an ADA-compliant gangway and kayak/paddleboard launch access.

Community Wellness Fair
Date: Friday, February 21, 2025
Time: 7 am – 11 am
Location: Isle of Palms Recreation Department | 24 28th Ave, Isle of Palms, SC
The Event: East Cooper Medical Center will be offering free glucose and cholesterol screening blood work. Appointments are not required, but registration is heavily encouraged. Over 30 local healthcare professionals will be in attendance to answer questions and educate participants on medical services available in the area.

Isle of Palms Speaker Series
Date: Tuesday, February 4th, 2025
Time: 5 pm
Location: Isle of Palms Recreation Department | 24 28th Ave, Isle of Palms, SC
What To Expect: As part of the series, the IOP Recreation Center will host Lisa Gastaldi from Lowcountry College Counseling to advise students applying to colleges. Lisa, an alumna of the College of the Holy Cross and Assumption University, has a master’s degree in counseling psychology. Previously Director of College Counseling at Bishop England on Daniel Island, she now owns her own business offering services in college application creation, application and essay assistance, resume critiques, and interviewing technique consultation.
