Isle of Palms Area Golf Cart Rentals

We’re based on Isle of Palms. Cruise from the beach to dinner at The Refuge, or up the island to the Wild Dunes gates. We deliver to anywhere on IOP except Wild Dunes (we can’t rent inside the resort).

Why Isle of Palms + a golf cart just works.

Our Isle of Palms fleet is made up of 2022–2025 luxury LSVs. Fully street-legal, equipped with seat belts, headlights, Bluetooth, USB charging, and backup cameras. You can drive at night. You can drive on any road with a posted speed limit of 35 mph or less. Parking? Easy.

All carts are electric. Quieter than gas, cheaper to run, gentler on the island. We deliver to your door, hand off the keys, and pick up when you’re done.

Parking on IOP. What locals know

Front Beach lots (10th–14th Ave) fill by 10am every summer day. With a cart you skip the hunt entirely: pull into any half-spot or driveway corner, lock it, and walk five steps to the sand. Most rental houses on IOP have driveway space for a cart even when the cars are out. That’s where we drop it.

Public beach access points at every avenue from 1st through 57th. Park the cart at the access, walk over the dune.

IOP County Park (1st Ave) has free cart parking. Best beach on the island for families.

Don’t park on the sand. Beach driving is illegal in SC and you’ll get cited.

IOP cart rules in plain English

Drivers must be 21+ with a valid driver's license.

No exceptions. State law for LSV rentals.

35-mph roads only.

Covers basically all of IOP. Palm Blvd, all the side streets. Avoid the Connector during peak traffic; the speed limit there hits 45.

Day or night driving is fine.

Our carts are LSVs (Low-Speed Vehicles), not standard golf carts. Full headlights, taillights, turn signals.

All passengers must wear seat belts.

We have 3-point belts on every seat. Kids under 8 should be boostered per SC law.

No driving on the beach.

You can drive to it. Not on it. SC state law.

Hands-free phone laws apply.

Same as your car. Bluetooth’s built in. Use it.

Beach access by avenue

Every avenue from 1st through 57th has a public beach access. Here are the ones our renters use most:

1st Ave

IOP County Park. Best for families, modest fee for cars, free for carts, real bathrooms, lifeguards.

10th–14th Ave

Front Beach. Bars, restaurants, the Windjammer, volleyball. Busiest scene.

21st Ave

Quieter access, easy cart parking on side streets.

41st Ave

The transition point. Bunker ruins visible from here, beach starts getting wilder.

57th Ave

Last public access before the north end. Cleaner, fewer people.

North end (past 57th)

Drive Palm Blvd to the end. Dog beach off-leash before 10am / after 6pm in the off-season.

The cart routes worth knowing

The Wild Dunes ride-by

≈ 25 min round trip

Palm Boulevard up to 41st, hang right past the Wild Dunes gates. The resort itself is gated and not part of our delivery area, but the public stretch of Palm and the surrounding island roads make a great loop on the way back.

The Front Beach dinner crawl

≈ 20 min, no rush

Park near 10th Ave, walk Ocean Blvd. Drinks at The Windjammer, dinner at The Refuge or Coastal Crust, ice cream at Sweet Lou’s, sunset back at the cart. The whole loop is six blocks.

Sullivan's hop

≈ 12 min each way

Drive south on Palm, cross the Breach Inlet bridge to Sullivan’s. Obstinate Daughter for dinner, Poe’s for burgers, Beardcat’s for ice cream. Cart-friendly the whole way.

Front Beach pickup

If you’d rather meet us than have us deliver, we’ll meet you at the Front Beach pier (14th Ave) for cart handoff. Useful if your rental check-in is late.

Where we deliver on IOP

We deliver anywhere from 1st Ave to the north end. Most drop-offs happen between 10am and 4pm on the day of your check-in. Text us when you arrive at your rental and we’ll bring it over.

Can I rent if I'm staying at Wild Dunes?

Unfortunately no. Wild Dunes does not permit our LSV rentals inside the resort. Please confirm your rental is NOT inside the Wild Dunes gates before booking. If you’re not sure, text us your address and we’ll check.

Can I take the cart to Sullivan's or Mount Pleasant?

Yes for Sullivan’s. The Breach Inlet bridge and SI roads are cart-legal. For Mount Pleasant, you’d need to cross the Connector (45 mph), so we don’t recommend it. We can deliver a cart directly to Mount Pleasant instead.

Where do I park at Front Beach?

Anywhere a car can park, plus a lot of half-spots cars can’t. Side streets off Ocean Blvd between 9th and 14th are easiest. Meters apply 9am–9pm in season. Bring quarters or use ParkMobile.

Q05

Can the cart go on the beach?

No. South Carolina state law prohibits vehicles on the beach (with very narrow exceptions for property maintenance). You can drive to any beach access and walk over the dune.

Is the IOP Connector OK for a cart?

No. The Connector posts 45 mph and our LSVs top out at 25 mph. Stay on the island for the cart. If you need to get over to Mount Pleasant, take a car (or we’ll deliver a cart to MP for the day).
