Things to Do on Isle of Palms in August 2026: Events, Live Music & Summer Fun

Summer isn’t over yet on Isle of Palms.

If you’re visiting during the second half of August, there’s still plenty of time to squeeze in a few more beach days, catch live music, explore the local farmers market, get out on the water and enjoy those long Lowcountry evenings.

And the nice thing about staying on Isle of Palms is that you don’t have to spend your vacation constantly getting in and out of the car.

With a street-legal golf cart or LSV from GolfCart.Fun, getting to the beach, grabbing dinner or heading out for the evening can become part of the vacation itself.

Here’s what’s happening on Isle of Palms for the rest of August 2026, plus a few ideas for filling those days when you don’t have anything planned.

Isle of Palms Farmers Market & Food Truck Jam — August 20

Looking for something to do after a morning at the beach?

The Isle of Palms Farmers Market & Food Truck Jam returns on Thursday, August 20, from 4:00–7:00 PM at the Isle of Palms Recreation Center at 24 28th Avenue.

It’s a fun, easygoing local event with fresh produce, local vendors, food trucks, live music and activities for the family.

Spend the morning on the sand, head back to your rental to clean up and cool off, then make your way over to the Recreation Center for the market.

If you miss the August event, the market is scheduled to return on the third Thursday of the month through October, including September 17 and October 15.

Golf cart tip: Staying nearby? A golf cart or LSV can make getting to local events like this much easier. Be sure to park only in designated areas and follow all Isle of Palms golf cart, LSV and parking regulations.

Catch Live Music at The Windjammer

It wouldn’t feel like summer on Isle of Palms without a night at The Windjammer.

Located right on Front Beach, The Windjammer has a busy concert lineup through the second half of August.

Upcoming shows include:

  • Matisyahu — August 20
  • Drew Baldridge — August 21
  • Wilderado with Sam Burchfield — August 22 & 23
  • Steep Canyon Rangers — August 27
  • The Wood Brothers — August 28
  • Sister Hazel — August 29

With shows on the NÜTRL Beach Stage, it’s hard to find many concert venues around Charleston with a setting quite like this one.

Make a night of it. Head toward Front Beach, grab dinner nearby, catch the show and enjoy the ride back to your Isle of Palms vacation rental afterward.

Just be sure you have a legal and safe plan for getting home if anyone in your group is drinking.

Enjoy Live Music at Wild Dunes

The Windjammer isn’t the only place to hear live music on Isle of Palms this August.

Wild Dunes Resort also has performances scheduled throughout the remainder of the month at spots including the Grand Pavilion and Huey’s.

Live music is scheduled on several dates, including August 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 27, 29, 30 and 31.

If you’re staying at Wild Dunes or toward the northern end of Isle of Palms, it can be an easy way to wind down after a day at the beach.

Keep in mind that Wild Dunes is a gated community, and access may be limited to resort guests, residents and authorized visitors. Check access requirements and the latest event schedule before heading over.

Spend a Day at Front Beach

You don’t need tickets, reservations or a packed itinerary to have a good day on Isle of Palms.

Sometimes all you need is Front Beach.

The Front Beach area around Ocean Boulevard is one of the busiest parts of the island, putting the beach, restaurants, shops and nightlife within a relatively small area.

A late-August day on IOP could be as simple as this:

Morning: Pack the beach gear, hop in the cart and head toward the sand.

Afternoon: Grab lunch, explore the island and head back to your vacation rental for a break from the afternoon heat.

Evening: Head back toward Front Beach for dinner, live music or an evening ride around the island.

No complicated itinerary required.

That’s part of what makes Isle of Palms such a good place for a summer vacation.

Get Out on the Water at Isle of Palms Marina

After a few days of looking at the ocean, you may decide it’s time to get out on it.

The Isle of Palms Marina is a great starting point for exploring the waterways surrounding the island.

Barrier Island Ecotours offers excursions from the marina, including wildlife-focused eco tours and fishing trips. It’s a chance to see a different side of the Lowcountry and learn more about the wildlife, marshes and barrier islands that make this part of South Carolina so unique.

Groups looking for a more private experience can also check out Osprey Boat Charters, which offers private outings through the surrounding waterways.

A morning boat trip, lunch and an afternoon cruising around Isle of Palms in a golf cart?

That’s a vacation day done right.

Make Time for an Isle of Palms Sunset

Late August days have a habit of filling up quickly.

Beach in the morning. Lunch. A boat trip. Maybe a little shopping. Dinner plans.

But leave some room for sunset.

Take an evening ride toward the marina, explore some of the quieter parts of Isle of Palms or make your way toward Breach Inlet as the day starts winding down.

The Boathouse at Breach Inlet is also a popular spot for dinner near the water and can make a great ending to a day on the island.

Wherever you go, make sure you’re following local traffic rules.

Golf carts and LSVs should only be operated on roads where they’re legally permitted. Drivers must follow all applicable South Carolina and Isle of Palms traffic laws, and golf carts and LSVs should never be driven on the beach.

Why Rent a Golf Cart on Isle of Palms?

One of the best things about an Isle of Palms vacation is how close so many of the things you want to do are to one another.

The beach. Restaurants. Local events. The marina. Front Beach. Your vacation rental.

Instead of piling everyone into the car every time you want to go somewhere, renting a street-legal golf cart or LSV gives you another way to experience the island.

GolfCart.Fun delivers golf cart rentals directly to Isle of Palms vacation rentals, so your cart can be there and ready for your trip.

That means less time worrying about transportation and more time enjoying why you came to Isle of Palms in the first place.

Take it to the farmers market. Head out for dinner. Catch live music. Pack up for the beach. Or simply spend an evening exploring the island.

Sometimes getting there is half the fun.
